Diana Melody: 30 Seconds to Savory
Diana Melody, Travel Editor-at-Large, City to Coast Magazine, is also a flight attendant and the host of this special 30 Seconds to Savory episode. In this kitchen-set feature, she also shares her personal story from around the time of her breast cancer diagnosis two years ago. A walking habit earns its place in the week. So does resistance work. The CDC recommends muscle-strengthening activity at least two days a week alongside aerobic movement, covering major muscle groups. Strength deserves its own appointment.
For a practical start, schedule two sessions using weights, resistance bands, or body-weight moves that fit your experience.
A pink ribbon catches the eye. Practical assistance can change someone’s week. Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition’s Breast Care Assistance Fund helps eligible Delaware residents facing financial hardship during treatment with expenses such as housing, groceries, transportation, and childcare.
Before participating in a pink-themed promotion, check which organization receives the money, how much is donated, and whether there is a cap or deadline.
Earlier sunsets call for thoughtful calendar editing: move an outdoor break into daylight, protect a consistent wake time, and leave a quieter stretch before bed.
The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute emphasizes regular sleep times, daily outdoor time when possible, and physical activity as part of healthy sleep habits.
Times are local. Confirm availability and any last-minute changes with organizers before heading out.
A Note from the Publisher
“Awareness inspires us. Compassion connects us. And even the smallest acts of kindness can make an extraordinary difference.”
This edition is dedicated to everyone whose life has been touched by breast cancer: to those who have fought, those still fighting, and those we hold forever in our hearts. And especially to Diana, whose courage, grace, and willingness to share her journey remind us of the extraordinary strength of the human spirit.
With admiration and gratitude,
